Allium Millenium (Millenium Ornamental Onion) provides lots of gorgeous, butterfly-attracting flowers in late summer when the garden is most in need of color. We have come to adore this Allium for its numerous virtues: attractive, shiny deep green foliage, profuse display of bright rose-pink flowered globes, vigorous growth rate, and excellent deer and rabbit resistance. Best of all Allium 'Millenium' is a foolproof companion plant that looks great with many other summer blooming perennials. This superb allium hybrid is difficult to find in the trade. It was originally selected in 2000 by Allium maven Mark McDonough. 15" tall x 18-22" wide (Propagated by division). This Allium is shipped as a pot, not as a bulb and differs from commonly found Allium in that it blooms in late summer, instead of spring.

"Plants were quite small when they arrived and were planted in Fall, but came up in Spring looking robust, loots of blooms! 😊 Were put on drip irrigation 3x per week at beginning of summer. Then came 6 weeks of +100° heat and the foliage still looked good (no blooms, of course) I call that a winner."

Absolutely charming
"These looked intriguing so we bought three of these to try out. What charmers! I bought three more and they should arrive any day while it's still plenty warm and there's plenty of time before first frost."
— Mimi F. (5/5)
Happy with purchase
"First purchase from HCG and delighted with the careful packaging of the items purchased. Great roots in the small containers and already blooming 1 month after planting."
— CM (5/5)
Great addition to my front garden
"Bought these in the small container size. Delayed planting these for a month after receiving them in late April. Was concerned they wouldn't thrive, but these were sturdy and began flowering and in early September they are just now beginning to fade. The dainty looking pink flowers are attractive. I planted them in a border area of my front garden that gets lots of deer and rabbit browsing, but these happily have gone untouched and look great. I hope they reseed and spread."

healthy and happy
"As expected and healthy!"

Stunning Garden Addition
"Initially, I put the allium in a spot in my yard to mature because they didn't look like much. At the beginning of the third year I transplanted the allium to my front entry area and they eventually grew to about 12-15 inches wide. I planted them around a yellow/magenta floribunda rose. To say they look stunning would be an understatement. I am an avid flower lover and these are now my most favorite flower of all. The blooms on my allium lasted throughout the summer. I'm buying more."
— Cottage G. (5/5)
Beautiful globe blooms the first year.
"I planted these in a perennial garden surrounding a water fountain. They arrived in very good condition, packed well, and looked healthy. There was not shock when planted, but I was pleasantly surprised when they bloomed the very first year. I am sure they will only get larger and more beautiful as they mature."
— Laura L. (5/5)
A Great Garden Addition. . .
"This plant looks great no matter where you place it. I have included it in formal and country gardens, as well as in my meadow garden. The plants get bigger and better every year. They really take the heat and sun, but will also do well in part shade. The plants are easy to transplant, and you can break up a large clump and have two nice clumps flowering by mid-summer. Just beautiful!"
— The G. (5/5)
Growing well after two Maine winters.
"This is a mid-summer bloomer and a fantastic attractor of honey bees."
— Ray (4/5)
