• Emerging in late winter to early spring, our Wildflower Iris Collection of 100 brightens the spirits and lights the way to springtime
• These low-growing flowers can be planted in containers, layered below taller spring blooming bulbs, or planted for a natural look to add jewels of color in a lawn
• The collection includes Specie Irises in beautiful shades of deep purples, blues, and violets with sunny yellow highlights to chase away the winter blues
There's nothing quite like the emergence of our miniature Wildflower Iris Collection to mark the start of spring. At 4-6" tall these diminutive wonders are perfect along a woodland edge, pathway, or any place you can see the flowers up close. Together, the Wildflower Iris Collection will form a magic carpet of color that will spread over time to form a drift of blooms to light up the early days of spring. Deer resistant and water-thrifty once established.
Our Wildflower Iris Collection includes 100 bulbs:
*Bulbs are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature bulbs with similar attributes suitable to the collection design. Does not include planting map.
Planting & Care
To see the second bloom, the conditions must be right, with full sun and rich, well-draining soil conditions.
Bearded Iris prefer at least 6-8 hours of sunlight a day. In hot climates (zones 8-11), they will tolerate 4-6 hours of sun, and may need some shade during the day.
Bearded Iris rhizomes prefer shallow cultivation, with the top of the rhizome above ground. They grow especially well on slopes or in raised beds.
Reblooming Bearded Iris are heavy feeders, requiring more water and fertilizer for the extra boost to flower again.
Be sure to deadhead faded flower spikes promptly after the first bloom, so plants will have time to form new flowers.
Reblooming Iris are heavy feeders and benefit from a light topdressing of compost and Yum Yum Mix applied just after "deadheading" the plants.
Scratch in the compost/Yum Yum Mix lightly and water thoroughly to melt the nutrients into the soil.
To avoid burning rhizomes, apply around but not directly on them.

Love these minis!
"I've planted these in my woodland areas, akin to wild irises. They've all sprouted beautifully and are quite delicate looking. It's delightful to see them emerge in small clusters near logs and stones. I plan to plant more this coming fall."

Small Bulbs and Flowers
"The bulbs were very small. All bulbs were appropriately packaged and labeled. Instructions for planting were included. About 80% of the bulbs have bloomed with extremely small dainty flowers. I hope over subsequent years they will get taller and be fragrant. Be patient!"
— Gary (3/5)
Earliest blooms in the garden!
"Very cute, easy early bloomers! This was the first thing to bloom in my garden (in sequence along the different species in this mix), and the blossoms got snowed on several times and didn't seem any worse for the wear. Post-bloom foliage gets quite a bit taller (18""?) and looks grassy. I planted them each a few inches apart, but it might have looked better if I put all in one planting hole together. Hoping to see them multiple over time to fill in more densely."
— Michelle (5/5)
My wife loves them.
"I bought these as a birthday gift. Couldn't be any better!"
— Arnie (5/5)
Cheerful
"Planted 2 years ago. Scattered bulbs in different areas throughout the garden. Some in the orchard, some at the eave drip line, some in the copse outside my windows. The first ones bloomed end of February. Others are blooming now in April. A cheering sight."

Doing well even in clay soil
