Fritillaria persica (Persian Lily) flowers on spikes 2-3 ft. tall with 20-30 stunning pendant bells in shades of deep plum to almost black. This unusual perennial is spectacular in groupings and borders where its mid-spring blooms add a vertical stature and beauty to the garden. Easy to grow in moist, well-drained soil, add Persian Lily to you mid-spring bulbs and enjoy the show!
Fritillaria persica (Persian Lily) will take the humdrum out of your mid-spring garden with its strong, vertical spikes of deep purple bell-shaped flowers. This elegant flower was introduced to gardens in the late 1500s and has been well-loved ever since. Glossy blue-green foliage adds an extra layer of interest as well. Persian Lily is lovely in the company of other mid-spring flowers such as tulip, daffodil and other Fritillaria. Resistant to deer and rabbits, plant this drought tolerant bulb in groups of three or more for best effect. The flowers can vary from deep plum to a brownish green from year to year and will do best in a full sun setting with well-drained soil. Some shade is okay; it will get taller with more sun. It doesn’t tolerate wet soils well, so be sure to have fast draining soil. 28-32" tall x 12-18" wide.

Spectacular
"I planted this in a pot on a semi-covered patio. It began to grow a little too early in our winter and was snowed upon several times. Nevertheless, it thrived and bloomed well before any other bulbs. I will be planting it out in a bed with a few others. While it was lovely, it will be that much better in a group."

Long Lasting Flowers
"Nice bloom on two out of four. Two didn't bloom this spring. I look forward to them all blooming in the coming years. All four grew well, just only two bloomed the first spring."

Came up beautifully in the first year!
"Very striking and beautiful with dainty clusters of flowers at the top. Not one deer nibbled which a major plus!!"
