Eupatorium fistulosum (Joe Pye Weed) is a butterfly magnet, this tall growing plant with huge, pink flat-topped flower clusters flowers in late summer. The largest of all the Joe Pye species, the plant is native to wet meadows of the eastern US thriving in moist soil with full sun. USDA zones 4-9

"I started my seeds in a pot in the location I wanted to plant. Seeds grew well, but I changed my mind about the location. I transplanted them into the ground. We've had a super dry summer and they have grown and flowered with little help from me. I didn't even water them but a couple times. The flowers look just like the pictures. The plants are between one and two feet right now. I started them in May."
