A neighborhood show-stopper!
"I am a resident of a condo who has volunteered to rehabilitate the landscaping. One of the most difficult sites is a planting bed between the driveway to the parking garage & main building entrance. The soil is thin, dry, in full sun and not near a hose bib. About 6 years ago it was seeded with a home improvement store wildflower mix that contained Shasta daisies, and a variety of other plants that needed constant watering. Over time the Shasta daisies took over and crowed out all of the plants. After digging out the Shastas, we replanted with a good-quality wildflower seeding mix that didn't contain invasives or ""strong growers"" like the Shasta daisy, and which has minimal water requirements when established. This first growing season the annuals dominate but are showy enough to cause passing traffic to slow down and gawk a little!"
