Ziggy Reblooming Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) is like the flashing dress of a Spanish dancer, waking us up with bright yellow standards and almost pleat-like falls of striped plum and cream. Sweetly fragrant and reblooming, Iris germanica Ziggy has it all. Its first blooms arrive in mid-spring, followed by a second blooming in late summer. Standing tall at 26-32" it can be a welcome addition to a sunny spot where bright colors can shine. Hardy in zones 4-9.
Ziggy Re-blooming Bearded Iris (Iris germanica) is a fiesta in a flower. Its sunny yellow standards (upright petals) light up the intense purple and white of the falls (drooping petals) for a summer wake up that is hard to beat. Re-blooming and sweetly fragrant, it is low care, deer resistant and water thrifty. Cut or pop off spent blooms once they are done and cut back the leaves to six-inch fans after the first frost. They multiply and spread as the years pass too, so every 4 years or so, after flowering, cut them back, and gently dig them up. Divide the rhizomes so each has some leaves and replant, relocate, gift and trade for new varieties and colors. It’s part of the fun of gardening with Bearded Iris!

Healthy plant
"I just received the rhizome late August 2024. I followed the instructions on planting, and now it's a healthy plant, with a few other tiny plants growing already. High country's rhizomes that I received are healthy, big, thus they become vigorous in the ground. They were shipped by USPS, and were delivered timely. I am very satisfied with the purchase so far. I can't wait to see when it blooms , perhaps next year. I would like to give it a 5- star rating, but I want to see it bloom first"

Flowered first year
"Here is an iris that may do well in the low desert environment. It was late to start growing, but it rapidly developed and flowered in sync with my established iris beds. This means that it was able to complete flowering before the intense sunshine and heat burned it up. I mulch all iris. The flowers were small, but definitely had more than three on each and lasted a week. They are all going dormant for the summer, but hopefully will be better next season? These are rebloomers, so hoping will see some inflorescence in summer. . . ."
