Lots of desirable qualities!
"When we moved from Washington to Oregon, this is the only plant I dug up to bring to our new home. It is a tough performer, able to endure long wet winters and long summer droughts. Subsequently I purchased another because of its beauty throughout the entire growing season. The blossoms are beautiful in their simplicity. Their lovely fragrance is unique, similar to grape soda! Once the flowers are spent, the fancy foliage continues to add beauty to the garden."

Years of enjoying this plant
"I enjoyed this plant for years in the PNW. I moved it here to Santa Fe over a decade ago, and it's also thriving in this challenging yard. It's beautiful in and out of bloom. The flowers smell like grape pop. I do keep it in a pot because the gophers eat some of the irises, and I really don't want to lose it. It's one of my top 3 all time plants."

Many year's worth of enjoyment
"I've had this iris for many years, and it's one of my top 3 indispensable garden plants. It grew well in my PNW yard, and is one of the few which moved with me to also thrive in my Santa Fe yard. The leaves add color and interest and the blooms are beautiful, and smell like grape pop. It's been in a pot here because some irises get eaten by gophers, and I don't want to chance losing this one."
