"I selected these native columbines for a low maintenance border of mostly native perennials and shrubs. They are challenging to germinate in the spring. because they need a chilling period. I saved half the seeds for fall planting, but got about 50% germination in May using refrigerator chilling. The plants are still small, but healthy. I expect to move them from the nursery to their permanent location this fall."
"I ordered a total of 5 different plants 3 of which are growing beautifully the other two I won't know until next spring."
