Growing nicely didn't get it

"Growing nicely didn't get it in the ground right away cause it was still cold but it is doing well"

Perfect for where I planted it

"I've had this plant for a few years and have never had a problem with it. It has spread and filled in the area where I planted it. It's on a hill next to my house and only receives morning sun."

Did not survive winter - zone 5a, 7,500 ft altitude

"Purchased 7 different plants from HCG in spring 2024. This is the only plant that did not make it through the winter, and it also struggled all summer. It is likely our soil is too challenging."

New this year.

"Only bought this this year and we've had a lot of gloomy wet weather so only just able to plant, so far now that our weather is turning sunny I'll just have to see how this plant does and if it comes back next year."

Does Not Disappoint

"I have two plants in low fertility soil…. maybe this explains why neither have reached 30-36"" tall. These come blazing into bloom as my creeping trumpet blossoms become less plentiful…. taking over as the stunning orange beauty in my garden. The color is absolutely terrific; see photo! Hummingbirds love them!"

Great color for under and around my tree.

"I have a rocked area that replaced a lawn under a tree and on a slope these plants return every year and make a beautiful color area throughout the summer."

Gaidy (5/5)

After they were replaced, they have done well.

"Had to be replaced, as most of this order did, have 3 growing okay."

pretty but. . .

"I ordered 3 and only 1 made it . That one looks to be dead this year. I will give it more time since we have had a very cold spring here in southern WI. Very brittle. Snaps off with hardly a bump. Very pretty when if flowered last fall. Not worth the cost to have 1 of 3 make it the first month in the ground . That was in the fall of 2020."

Excellent plant in my pollinator garden

"Now in its second year, this plant has really come on this year with a profusion of flowers. It has been provided with regular drip irrigation throughout the growing season and with supplemental watering during the winter months. It is planted in clay that was amended with compost. No additional fertilization has been applied. Very easy care once established. Zone 5 (Northern Colorado Front Range)"

Eye Catching Color

"I ordered 2 of these for Spring planting. Both had great root systems. In July of their first growing season, they are both healthy and blooming. However, they're very short (about 10"" tall and wide) … and so they look a lot like my Orange Carpet® Creeping Hummingbird Trumpet (Zauschneria)! I am looking forward to next year, when they will be more mature … and cannot be confused with their 'creeping cousins!'"
