Schizachyrium scoparium ‘Twilight Zone' (Little Bluestem Grass) is a stunning native grass selection with iridescent, silvery-blue foliage and hints of purple, which become especially pronounced in mid to late summer. A rigidly upright columnar growth habit makes ‘Twilight Zone' a great architectural addition to ornamental and naturalistic plantings alike. Plant ‘Twilight Zone’ in full sun and well-drained, infertile soil.
The native species S. scoparium has significant wildlife benefits, serving as a larval host plant for nine skipper species and providing essential overwintering habitat for various insects and wildlife. Leave the foliage standing through the winter to provide year round interest as well as a valuable food source for birds.

"When I received this little guy it looked pretty scraggly. After planting it all turned brown and was questioning if it would survive. I'm glad I didn't give up. It began adding fresh growth and is becoming a very beautiful grass. The purple that appears on the edges is lovely and vibrant. Will be ordering a couple more."
"I was happy to find a grass that would survive a zone 5 climate. Unfortunately, the plants arrived almost dead. I watered them and planted quickly. The few green leaves slowly turned brown. I was very disappointed in the condition of the plants upon arrival. Perhaps the company should consider sending by UPS or FedEx instead of unreliable USPS."
