(6" tall x 12-15" wide.) Dwarf Pink Lamb's Ear (Stachys maxima) is a low-growing groundcover with showy pink flower spikes in early summer. Dwarf Pink Lamb's Ear is a little know Old World native, and in the landscape, it's a very useful, low-care plant that slowly spreads to form a tight, weed-resistant carpet of attractive bright green foliage. An excellent lawn replacement for semi-shade areas.

"Bought as part of my campaign to replace mulch with groundcover plants. The violet-pink flowers (it's July now) have a nice color intensity. It has not spread much after two seasons, but I expect good things from next year. #sweepstakes"
"We bought these in time to plant and have them be ready for winter but none of them csme back this summer."
"Used in a waterwise area"
"This plant was new to me last year, and it took easily in our 100 degree summer and bloomed in early fall. This year it popped up early and started blooming with the daffs. We'll see how long the bloom goes on. It creates a fuzzy lavender haze. It's not ""gorgeous"" like a columbine or peony, but is a great workhorse in my augmented clay xeriscape. The honeybees like it. I'll be buying more."
"I am interested in good, new, deer resistant, potential ground cover choices for my garden. I am pleasantly pleased with the way these plants performed, grew, and flower production. Good choice."
