Description

Phlox subulata 'Snowflake' (Moss Phlox) is a mat-forming native cultivar. Once established it spreads in a carpet-like style, resembling its common name, Moss Phlox. Easy care, it requires average soil with good drainage and a sunny location. Flowering for 4-6 weeks, it is covered in snow-white flowers that attract bees, butterflies, and hummingbirds. Native to the eastern US, it is deer-resistant and can be used on slopes for erosion control. Salt tolerant, it’s a perfect choice for coastal areas. Once established it is a drought and heat-tolerant perennial that will naturalize and spread, filling in bare spots and harmonizing with spring bulbs such as Muscari, Daffodils, Crocus, and Wildflower Tulips.
