Excellent Plant!

"Beautiful deep red blooms from late Spring to Fall. This plant grew really fast and is so healthy looking. The afternoon shade is key for this salvia."

Very hardy in my MI zone 6a

"I was surprised that this salvia returned after our cold winter here in Michigan zone 6a. She did and grew to at least 3 feet. The little hummer loves it."

Healthy and Vibrant Type of Salvia

"I'm a big fan of the shrubby varieties of salvia and this 'Maraschino' variety caught my eye immediately with its deep-red blooms. The plant arrived healthy and well-packaged. I have it in a large pot container in my front yard that's mostly shaded throughout the day and it's thriving in its chosen spot based on its care requirements and has added a lot of growth in the few short weeks it's been planted. It's got plenty of room to branch out and I'm looking forward to the bloom cycle in the near future. #sweepstakes"

Waiting patiently

"I have only just planted these a few weeks ago. They aren't flowering yet, but have already doubled in size from what they were when they arrived. High Country Gardens has superb plants! They arrive well packaged to ensure their safety; the plants are very healthy, giving them the best chances for survival and growth."

This plant has the happiest red flower

"Because of our wierd spring weather I had to keep the last order in the house for a spell, then acclimated it on the porch, and finally planted all last week. I used a little SuperThrive when watering and all look really good when they got into the ground. Since planting the wind has been outrageous, but plants are holding well. I have wire cages around the taller ones to help out."

I can hardly wait for this to bloom!

"I had a hot lips Salvia last year that the hummingbirds just loved. I ordered this also to give them more nectar. It is still too small for it to bloom."

Dog M. (5/5)

Second year ordering this salvia.

"I purchased 5 of these last year and 4 are looking good. One did not survive. I ordered 2 more this year and both look healthy and are growing well. I love the color of this plant . We have a problem with deer in my area but they do not seem to bother this salvia. I am looking forward to seeing them bloom when summer arrives. I have been a High Country Gardens customer for many years and have always been very happy with their plants and service. I felt like I lost a friend when David passed away. I often refer to his videos when I am looking for information on a High Country Gardens plant."

Maraschino Have the Most Vivid Red of All the Salvia!

"These are the most beautiful, vivid red of any Salvia I have grown. Lots of positive comments on these from neighbors. They thrive under hot dry conditions. They do not like overly wet soil and I have lost some due to overwatering and root rot. I lost two due to winter kill in 2022-23, but we got down to 10-20 degrees below zero wind chill. The stems are brittle and prone to breaking under windy conditions, so I use a green tomato cage to support the plant and prevent wind damage. As the plants get large the tomato cage becomes hidden from view. Highly recommend these!"

Beautiful color

"I love the salvia. It is good for the garden, the pollinators, my eyes, and it will be back next year, bigger and better"
