In warm zones along the CA coast, the plant can get quite large after a few growing seasons. Prune hard in late spring to keep the plant more compact. In colder climates Amistad is a spectacular container plant ideal for use around outdoor patios to attract hummingbirds. This plant is believed to be a hybrid between S. guaranitica x S. gesneriiflora and was discovered at a plant sale in Argentina in 2005. Javelina resistant
