Sagina subulata ‘Aurea’ (Scotch Moss), is an herbaceous perennial that hugs the ground to create a soft carpet of bright lime green foliage, like a carpet of moss. Growing well in most soil types with good drainage, ‘Aurea’ thrives in a full sun to part shade location with moderate, consistent moisture. It’s a great choice to use between pavers, along a path, or as a groundcover. Plant it in a container for an elegant look; it provides a brilliant contrast to darker green plants. It’s a good choice for small spaces and for mass plantings, this evergreen perennial is versatile, low maintenance, and hardy. It is native to western and central Europe.
