In summer, dark wiry stems are tipped with long green bracts that carry several purple tubular flowers. As the season progresses, this creates a cascading effect that’s perfect for garden walls or large containers. The stems dry well and work beautifully in flower arrangements or kitchen projects. Plant ‘Bristol Cross’ in dry to average soils. It’s much better to water this Mediterranean descendant deeply and allow it to slowly dry out before watering again. If the plant is looking untidy in late spring, cut back to encourage new growth and a stronger habit. If growing in containers, ensure that the container is well-draining, and pair with other plants or herbs that prefer slightly drier conditions.
