Description

Li'l Bang™ 'Starstruck' Coreopsis also known as Starstruck Tickseed warms the summer-to-fall garden with a rich spectrum of reds. Radiating out from golden yellow centers the petals emerge as deep burgundy shifting to cherry, pink, and even white tips at the edges. Bees and butterflies love tickseed and with well over 4 weeks of bloom-time, 'Starstruck' is a hardy, easy-care perennial for containers and gardens. At 12-15 inches tall, it’s a great addition to a border, pollinator or bird-friendly garden, or container where it will show off in a hot, sunny spot. Not fussy, plant ‘Starstruck’ in sandy, average, or loam soil with good drainage in a sunny area. Water moderately to help the plant establish, thereafter it is drought tolerant. The narrow-leaved, finely cut foliage adds a delicate background to the perky flowers. Deadhead spent flowers to keep more flowers coming and you may cut back the plant by one-third in late summer to refresh it for another display of blooms. Hardy in zones 5-8, mulch well in fall and leave old growth on the plant to protect and nourish the roots and to feed birds. Prune them back in early spring and enjoy another summer of easy-care color. (12-15" tall x 15-18" wide)
