How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
4-5" x 15-18" wide. Horticulturist David Salman found this jumbo snow-in-summer growing in a Santa Fe, NM landscape some years ago. Its large stems and leaves caught his attention, being distinct from what he had been growing for years. Its larger size and vigor make it an excellent lawn substitute, producing a carpet of white blooms in late spring. It is especially recommended for poor, sandy soil sites where turf struggles.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. "Planted 6 of these just under a year ago and already incredible results! Plants have spread 8 - 12 inches and covered in blooms for about a month or so. Foliage is beautiful and contrasts well with the mulch and surrounding plants. Loving these and can’t wait to see how well they do in their second year!"
"Arrived looking vigorous! Full dense planting ready to go into the ground. Very pleased. Will be a returning customer."
"This is a great ground covering plant, forming dense, but tidy matts of gray-green foliage. I planted a dozen of these last Spring and they grew and spread over the Summer and now blanket an area of about 5 square feet. Flowers are just starting to bloom now, a year later."
"Dry easy to care for. Hardy. Water-wise."
"Fast growing, Easy to move, and STUNNING. Although this plant only blooms for a short time the constant greenery is beautiful all year long."
"I love this plant as a groundcover and use it in my own yard and in clients' yards. I was introduced to snow-in-summer when we moved to Boulder 25 years ago. There was a large patch of it around a gorgeous red peony in the fixer-upper house we bought, and both plants bloomed at the same time and looked great together. I often plant snow-in-summer, peonies, and bearded irises together."
