"I have purchased plants before from HCG. Most have been fine. These plants (2) were removed from the shipping container within minutes of delivery. Let rest for a couple on days then transplanted to pots . They look relatively healthy but frail. I'm not too sure they will make it to spring."

Unfortunately the current crop of feral kittens used them as bedding and toys. They destroyed them. Will buy more earlier next spring from High Country Gardens. A delightful addition to the semi-shade border, 'Red Hobbit' is a dwarf Danish selection with eye-catching red and white flowers. Hybridized from our native Rocky Mt. Columbine, it tolerates a wide range of growing conditions. We've found it does best in western gardens with compost-enriched soil with regular irrigation. This stable hybrid comes true to color when reseeding in the garden, unlike many other hybrid varieties. (seed propagated)
