Description

Bella™ Bluegrass for shade and semi-shade is a truly revolutionary dwarf turf grass that requires 30% less water than traditional Bluegrass. Bella™ Bluegrass has roots reaching down 3-3 1/2 feet deep into the soil. Being a dwarf variety, Bella™ Bluegrass doesn't require mowing, as it completes its upward leaf growth by mid-June. Bella™ will retain it’s lovely dark blue-green color in fall, longer than many other turf selections and green up more quickly in the spring. It is extremely resistant to heat, drought and disease.

The grass blades grow to a height of only 2 to 3 inches. Bella™ Bluegrass stays green over a long stretch of the growing season from early spring into late fall. It is an excellent choice for both the full sun and part shade areas (80%) of your yard. This cool-season grass thrives in cold climates, yet is also excellent in warm climates (except the southernmost areas of the US). Bella™ is durable, versatile, and grows in most soil types including sand, sandy loam, clay or peat.

Space plugs 6" apart; one flat covers 17 sq. ft. Bella™ Bluegrass plugs can be installed anytime the ground is not frozen in the recommended planting areas. See Lawn Replacement Instructions for more information. A detailed planting and maintenance instruction sheet is provided with each order.

As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat.  The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and spring-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.

Perennials and spring-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your hardiness zone. Perennial and spring-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge.
