Description

Award-winning Hosta x ‘Patriot’ is among the most popular variegated hostas ever introduced, with large deep green leaves. In mid-summer, tall scapes rise above the clump-forming foliage with showy lavender flowers that attract hummingbirds and other pollinators. Ideal for defining garden borders and edges, to use as a groundcover, or as a focal point in shaded garden beds.

Hostas thrive in partial to full shade. Gentle rays of morning sun can help enhance the leaf color, but prolonged exposure to intense sunlight can lead to leaf scorch and stress, especially during the hotter parts of the day. Plant in well-draining, compost amended soil and keep consistently moist, especially during dry periods. Deep, infrequent watering encourages deep root growth and helps the plant withstand drought conditions. Remove spent flowers and damaged leaves to keep the plant looking tidy and cut the foliage down to the ground in fall.
