The "Eyes" Have It! ;)
By Crickets Meyeres
from Kanab UT high desert, alkaline soil
This is just a little follow up to show you that not much more than a month after I first spotted sprouts, the baby Blue eyes and Buffalo eyes are blooming already! It is now the first week in April. The grape hyacinth that I also planted in the same plot are still blooming, so the ground looks really pretty with lots of purples and blues. I really didn't expect blooms so soon! What a nice surprise. And with no pampering, not Having to start indoors, etc.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Cute and early!
from Kanab UT zone 7 SW high desert
Oh wow! I planted these seeds in late fall. I had just put in some still-tiny perennial groundcovers. To help fill the gaps between until they grew to full size, I interplanted with short spring bulbs (crocus, dwarf Iris, etc) and then sprinkled lawn alternative wildflower mix over everything. I didn't press down the seed, I just broadcast and then hoped for the best because I didn't want to trample the new perennials. I completely did not expect the wildflowers to start sprouting already in January! Amazingly, the Tiny seedlings turned out to be cold hardy. They are now almost a month old and growing strong and healthy! They have even survived some trampling by mule deer. Everything went into fill dirt as this was part of a new landscaping project that required some leveling. I didn't add any amendments. These are tough plants! I really could not be more thrilled and the lawn alternative came up even before the bulbs. They were the first sprouts this year, And now well on their way to becoming full-fledged plants.

Love this stuff!
from West Wendover, NV
Been experimenting with a now mow, low water lawn/prairie wildflower xeriscape in place of a traditional lawn in the Nevada desert we live in. I seeded my yard with this mix, micro clover, the HCG No Mow and Low Work and Water grass seed. This mix has gorgeous little flowers in it that are still going strong midsummer, after other low growing native wildflowers have gone to seed. They don't seem to wilt or dry out too much. I was going to take off one star for the price, but my yard looks like a Midsummer's Night's Dream. Will be getting more.

Very Hardy seed!
from west texas/new mexico
Good way to cover the ground where you want a thick green growth without using grass that can become a pest.....needs some water but not very frequently.

I used this seed mixture as an alternative to lawn in a front part of my yard. The first year the results of this seed mixture was fantastic. I experienced a variety of continuous bloom all summer. The second year very few of the plants reseeded, now I have a wonderful patch of clover.

Great product to try
By Wildflower Pat
from Cottage Grove, MN
Planted in Spring and had a less than excellent germination rate. Great for around border edging so I can avoid mowing for longer periods. Would be nice to have different mixes and provide more perennials in the mix. Highly recommend trying it. Better results planting in late fall for spring show.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
