Overview
Thymus serpyllum ‘Elfin’ (Creeping Thyme) is a dwarf cultivar, one of the lowest growing Thymes available, with tiny rounded leaves that create cushions of aromatic foliage. It can be tucked into stone walls, containers, and gravel or rock gardens. It can handle occasional foot traffic, so plant along walkways or between pavers where it will release a lovely aroma. Plants are covered in pale lavender-pink flowers from late spring into summer, attracting pollinators.

Description

Creeping Thyme is a widely popular groundcover thanks to its resilient nature, and Thymus serpyllum ‘Elfin’ is a must-have compact cultivar ideal for adding new layers of color and texture to your waterwise landscape. It thrives in moderately fertile soil, average to dry, alkaline to neutral, and prefers well-drained soil. It can tolerate poor soil, salt, and is drought tolerant once established. Deer and rabbit resistant, it’s easy to grow and essentially pest-free, thanks in part to its aromatic essential oils in its foliage. Thymus serpyllum is native to Europe, western Asia, and northern Africa.
