Overview
Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Super Arp’ (Cold Hardy Rosemary) is a woody, perennial herb with evergreen needle-like aromatic foliage. Light blue flowers arrive in mid-spring, attracting a variety of bees and butterflies. What sets ‘Super Arp’ apart is its super hardy attribute of tolerating cold temperatures, allowing gardeners in much of North America to enjoy Rosemary in the garden. ‘Super Arp’ is the most cold and altitude-tolerant rosemary currently available. Easy to grow, it’s a good choice for a rock or terrace garden, container, or kitchen garden. A David Salman Introduction.

Description

Rosmarinus officinalis ‘Super Arp’ (Cold Hardy Rosemary) is a sturdy perennial that can be the focal point of a rock garden, and is lovely planted with Lavender, Sage, and Ornamental grasses. Resistant to deer and rabbits, it’s a low-maintenance selection for year-round enjoyment. Discovered by our founder, David Salman, in Santa Fe, NM; he found it as the lone survivor of ‘Arp’ Rosemary after a cold winter with a -18F winter night. The original cuttings were taken from that plant. Native to the Mediterranean, Rosmarinus is traditionally found in coastal, temperate areas. The original ‘Arp Rosemary’ is named for Arp, Texas.
