Description

3" x 4-5' wide. This outstanding miniature cactus is the gem of the genus. The plant forms a small mound of tiny, clustered white-spined stems that bloom in late spring-early summer with salmon-pink flowers. One of the rarest cacti in the United States, this tiny, white-spined gem is only found in a couple locations in southeastern New Mexico near Carlsbad Caverns.

Extremely rare in habitat, our greenhouse cultivated plants are propagated by offsets of the smallest, most tightly clustering individuals. Escobaria leei has proven to be extremely cold hardy, much more so than its southern origins would suggest. Outstanding! Eddy Co., NM.
