These five easy-to-grow perennials will help create habitat for Monarch butterflies and add beautiful color to your garden. The collection includes three varieties of Asclepias (Milkweed), the only food source for Monarch caterpillars.
The Pollinator Partnership's mission is to promote the health of pollinators, critical to food and ecosystems, through conservation, education and research. Signature initiatives include the NAPPC (North American Pollinator Protection Campaign), National Pollinator Week, and the Ecoregional Planting Guides.
Our Monarch Butterfly Perennial Wildflower Seed Collection contains five different packets: Asclepias syriaca (Common Milkweed), Asclepias incarnata (Swamp Milkweed), Asclepias tuberosa (Butterfly Milkweed), Eupatorium fistulosum (Joe Pye Weed), and Solidago rigida (Stiff Goldenrod). The Asclepias varieties will feed the caterpillars of the Monarch butterfly. Joe Pye Weed and Solidago rigida will provide the adult butterflies with nectar. Use this collection to help create habitat for Monarch butterflies and to attract them and other butterflies to your garden.

About Me Getting Started
I love Monarch butterflies. So I arranged to have an area to plant this product. Results are beautiful, and so far are surviving, with only occasional watering after they start blooming.

I followed the directions to store seeds in frig for 30 days. Planted seeds according to directions. Did not get many plants to germinate. Butterfly weed bloomed. Still waiting on the 3 milkweed plants to do something. Not sure if the other 3 plants are Joe Pye Weed.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
