1. Choose a spot on your property that receives at least 6 hours of sun per day.
2. Prepare your soil by clearing the area of all existing growth.
3. Mix the Wildflower seeds with sand for better visibility.
4. After spreading the seed, we recommend compressing the seed into the soil.

One of the Only Survivors in a Harsh Spot

About Me Avid Gardener
Comments about High Country Gardens Teucrium aroanium:
I have a raised, steep wall with a very harsh, burning hot exposure during a long, dry summer. This is one of the only plants, and I've tried a bunch, that is happy. I haven't seen it bloom yet, but it is slowly creeping outward, and am looking forward to that.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Gorgeous & fragrant

Planted in a raised terrace with gravel mulch. A stunning plant in bloom and attractive out of bloom. I am stingy with supplemental water and this plant has thrived.

About Me Master Gardener
I've had great success here, in the mountains of Prescott, AZ, with this plant. I love it! It really adds a nice pop of color in my xeric landscape, and looks especially nice growing over rocks. The bees love it and it has a nice fragrance. One of my favorites!

I got nothin"
from Flagstaff, AZ.
About Me Getting Started
I did the "buy 2, get 1 free" deal last year and purchased 6. I planted them in an area with morning sun, in a mild fall, and waited. We had a fairly mild but wet winter. This spring, I can't even find the plants. And I have to say, this has been my experience with High Country live plants. The 3 yr. old lavender I bought is the same size as when I got it: the agastache ava's I planted haven't come up at all. I regularly buy plants locally here in Flagstaff, and have had no problem with them, so I know it's not the environment or my technique. I will say that the bulbs I purchased did well, but live plants not so much.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

It has grown beyond expectation for the first season. The DEER have not chewed on it or the TURKEYS have not tried to dig it up. I am turning to your nursery for future landscape needs. Everything has been a trial and error with frustration in researching plant material.

charming and drought tolerant
from Corvallis, OR
Give it some time, and this charming little creeping germander will set it's roots into those hot and dry spots that make other plants shrivel and die. Just don't give it too much water!

One of my favorites!
By Mary R.
from Fort Collins, CO
Have grown this plant for 4 years now, and it's one of my absolute favorites. It has the lovely, mounding form of a spring bloomer like candytuft or alyssum, but blooms from mid-summer on. Bees love it, people always ask about it. The foliage is evergreen, and the flowers are a gorgeous orchid purple. Much prettier than the catalog photo! My only complaint is that it doesn't seem to reseed. I would love more of it!

Planted in full sun in a highly visible area along the curb. Fills in a large area of bare dirt, where gravel washed out during monsoons. Already had some well-established plants, that remain evergreen and attractive year-round, and the new ones are filling in nicely as well.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
