How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
This is a larger growing, longer blooming version of the older variety 'Autumn Joy'. This plant also holds its flowers much longer into the fall and winter providing an extended season of color and structure. Sturdy upright stems have blue-green foliage and come into color in late summer. The large flat-topped flowers go from light rose-pink to red to bronze-red over a period of several months. Autumn Fire is one our best low care, high color perennials. Cut back to green basal growth in spring. 24" tall x 15-18" wide. Good for Firescaping.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (801) 769-0300 or contact us by email or chat.

"I purchased these to add on to the August Afternoons garden. They are great and hard to kill."
"I would purchase again! The plants are growing great!"
"Worked into a border with other August Afternoon pre-planned garden plants. The plant flowered in the first year and is coming up strong year two. The blooms are beautiful in the fall and the plant is great for increasing winter interest in an area."
"I have some in sandy soil on a steep south facing slope, others in a partially shaded area at the bottom of the slope where the soil can get a little soggy. . . they're thriving in both places. They were very low maintenance to get started, and they look great all year round."
"They simply refuse to flop over. I had to cut back Autumn Joy early to avoid that problem, and of course the flowers were smaller. Autumn Fire blossoms are bigger and more colorful. This plant gets quite large and provides good structure in the garden."
"These plants came in my ""August Afternoons"" collection. They are just beautiful and easy to take care of. They bloom after the summer flowers are fading off. The bees and butterflies love it. I've divided these and given many plants to my friends. I would highly recommend this sedum."
"The sedum I bought from High Country Gardens, quite a number of years ago, is a very easy plant to grow here in Montana. It is very hardy and easy to propagate. However, the deer love this plant! So since the Autumn Joy and Autumn Fire are similar, you might use caution and watch for the deer liking yours, also!"
"A very unique, late summer/early fall flower"
"Great accent color in the fall and dried interest in the winter."
"I have these sedums growing both in the garden and in a wine barrel. Give them plenty of space since they grow larger around with each growing season. Extremely hardy even in snow country. I do find aphids love them."
