A profusion of lightly fragrant white flowers cover this small growing native tree beginning in late spring. A very cold hardy cultivar, plant where it will get heat and sun. Drought resistant/drought tolerant plant (xeric). 12-15 ft. tall x 12-15 ft. wide.

Nice size and well-rooted. Desert

Ordered 3, only 2 had roots

"I purchased 3 of the Hope Desert Willows in 5"" deep pots. 2 of the 3 had good roots, the third plant was a just a plug in a 5"" pot of soil."

Little Champ

"When this little guy arrived last fall, let's just say it was puny! A tiny twig about 6 inches long with a few leaves. Nevertheless I planted it with high hopes after reading the reviews and boy were they right!! In the spring it took off, then a late freeze got it. Came back EVEN stronger and started blooming in June. Impervious to 100 degrees plus temperatures and deluging rain. Deer haven't touched it. Amazing!"

So far so good.

"These look good so far. I even have blossoms the first season."

Four years and thriving in Denver

"I planted this in front of a south facing brick wall in Denver (5b/6a) four years ago and it is now 15 feet tall and flowers all summer. I water it once a week now that it is established and I haven't fertilized it yet, but I plan to give it some yum yum mix this fall. It leafs out in late May which always makes me worried that it didn't survive the winter. I love desert willows. I also have a pink one and the purple Lucretia Hamilton one, both doing well along a west facing brick wall."

I love all the chilopsis! I had a pink one at my old house.

"I love all the chilopsis. Had a pink one at my old house. I got two for this house. A dog urinated on one and burned it and it came back from the woody part. Excited to watch these grow through the years."

Just 9"" tall & ready to bloom!

"Only 8 inches tall when planted last month, it's grown an inch and is loaded with flower buds! What a tough little performer! Extremely pleased. I am looking forward to it growing tall enough to cast a bit of shade on a pocket garden filled with native wildflowers."

I would buy again

"Happy and surprised how well they are doing."

Amazing plant!

"These plants have grown several inches since planting, and they are even flowering. I love that they do exactly what the description says. I purchased them about 4/11, and believe they arrived the first week in May. I bought 2, and the were approximately 14 and 16 inches at the end of May (shortly after planting), and as of today they are 20 and 22 inches! I fully expect them to continue thriving, and look forward to when they hit their mature height. I am a patient gardener, but they are giving me much to be thankful for already!"
