How do we use your location?
Knowing your location helps us recommend plants that will thrive in your climate, based on your Growing Zone.
As soon as your order is placed you will receive a confirmation email. You will receive a second email the day your order ships telling you how it has been sent. Some perennials are shipped as potted plants, some as perennial roots packed in peat. The ‘Plant Information’ section describes how that item will ship. All perennials and fall-planted bulbs are packaged to withstand shipping and are fully-guaranteed. Please open upon receipt and follow the instructions included.
Perennials and fall-planted bulbs are shipped at the proper planting time for your Growing Zone. Perennial and fall-planted bulb orders will arrive separately from seeds. If your order requires more than one shipment and all items are shipping to the same address, there is no additional shipping charge. See our shipping information page for approximate ship dates and more detailed information. If you have any questions, please call Customer Service at (802) 227-7200 or contact us by email or chat.

"They didn't sprout in the spring. I'm not sure if they dried out or what. I'm in the front range, Colorado. #sweepstakes"
"I ordered this product and they arrived almost immediately. I must have ordered the last that the company had in stock because 1) they've sold out for the year, and 2) two of the bulbs had blue mold on them and quickly disintegrated in my hands. Other than this minor flaw, the bulbs were strong and I immediately planted them. I can't wait until they bloom!"
"I bought this as a Christmas gift for my parents and planted for them at their house. They said they were having trouble finding plants that wouldn't need too much water and could flower under their shady bedroom window. It's east facing and the edge of the border is right where the water from the roof runs off… exactly what the description says is the ideal situation for these bulbs! I went to their place today and saw these. Wow, these are some neat little bulbs! They're not huge, but the flowers are actually bigger than I was expecting and the color of the tepals are so interesting! They were just starting to bloom, I didn't bring a camera with me besides my phone, and the very first flowers were just starting to bloom at the same time as the tulips and alyssum, so the photos could do them more justice. I also planted them in groups of 5 and not a ton bunched together, so it probably won't look like the photos of many flowers for another year or two, but they were definitely eye catching just as they are now! Might buy some for my house to plant this winter 😎"
"Planted in a damp shady border, all the bulbs came up. The bulbs in full shade were larger and more brightly colored than the ones receiving a little sun. They looks great peeking up between hellebores and hostas. Wonderful, otherworldly little flowers, ordering more this year!"
"They can get lost, as they are small and delicate, but very fun to watch. Need a special spot where they can be appreciated."
"I ""discovered"" the Fritillaria meleagris several years ago during an early spring visit to Denver Botanic Gardens. Among other leafy plants I spotted this amazing single flower, unlabeled, looking almost plaid in its coloring, and all alone. I almost took it to be a mirage and I resolved to find out its name and plant it in my yard. I was delighted to find that the bulbs were available for the home gardener. I now have several generations of them. The ones I bought from HCG and planted last fall are just starting to bloom now in my zone 3B, partly shady backyard."
"I use it in my shade gardens. Does great in containers. Such a cute little addition especially in small spaces."
