Overview
Slawa Triumph Tulip (Tulipa ‘Slawa’) lights up the May garden with shifting burnished flames of color. Beginning with maroon petals edged in a coppery hue, as the flowers mature, the edging turns to apricot-peach and even to light gold. It’s a dramatic element for a mid-spring garden; plant plenty, with their 3" blossoms they make great cut flowers too. Sometimes know as Muvota Tulips.

Description

Slawa Triumph Tulip (Tulipa ‘Slawa’) is pure drama in the mid-spring garden. With petals of deep burgundy that feather into colors of coppery-orange, they shift hues as the edges brighten into peach and yellow. For cut flowers, harvest Slawa Triumph Tulips (sometimes called Muvota Tulips) when they are still in bud and the color is just beginning to show. In the garden, remove blooms as soon as they fade to prevent seed from forming, conserving energy in the bulb. Let foliage die back and yellow before removing. Plant them in a full sun location in enriched well-drained soil. Consider planting a full range of Tulips with blooms from early to late-spring. Not only will they light up your garden and home, but they offer important early season pollen for our honeybees. Plant with Daffodils, Frittilaria, and Allium for pest deterrence and splendor. 16-20" tall x 4-8" wide.
