Description

Splashacata Bearded Iris (Iris germanica Splashacata) is a favorite in the early to mid-season garden. Lovely pale lavender standards, with speckled violet falls complement the bright yellow beard. This tall Bearded Iris will enhance the back of a perennial bed or border where its height of 32-38" will shower color and feed pollinators from early to mid-May. Vigorous clumps yield stems bearing 8-9 double-socketed buds. Low care, plant Iris in a compost enriched sun-to-part sun location with good drainage. Fertilize in spring and fall with organic fertilizer and that’s all you need for pollinator-favorite, water-thrifty, perennial Iris blooms. Plant with other mid spring bloomers like Catmint (Nepeta), Oriental Poppies (Papaver Orientale), and Evening Primrose (Oenothera). 2005 Dykes Medal winner
