36-60"' tall x 24-36" wide. Gray Headed Coneflower is a Mid-Western prairie native that blooms in the summer with large, yellow petaled flowers. Butterflies love it. Deer resistant, the seed heads are an excellent souce of food for seed eating songbirds in fall. Drought resistant/drought tolerant plant (xeric).

Native primarily to the Mid-Western US, this prairie wildflower is valued in the garden for its long season of mid-to-late summer bloom and its attractiveness to butterflies and seed eating birds. This deer resistant species makes an excellent cut flower and is easy-to-grow in a wide range of soil types. While slightly xeric, the plants should be irrigated in drier climates.
