Description

1" tall x 4-5" wide. Rabiea sp. Glenn (Glenn Cold Hardy Mesemb) is a handsome succulent that blooms in late winter/early spring with large quarter-sized bright yellow flowers. The chunky angular leaves grow to form a tight mat of foliage that wedges itself into the rocks of its native habitat. This has been one of the best, most cold-hardy species in HCG chief horticulturist David Salman's Santa Fe rock garden and has an enormous taproot that is best wedged between two deep rocks at planting time. This unidentified species of Rabiea was originally collected at high elevation near the town of Glenn, in Free State, South Africa.
