Lemon lily (Lilium parryi) is a rare Southwestern US native plant enjoyed for its highly fragrant yellow flowers that appear in mid-summer. While not a plant for beginners, it will become a favorite native for the experienced gardener when placed in a protected spot in the garden, where it gets afternoon shade and evenly moist soil. It may take a couple of growing seasons to establish itself and begin blooming. In the meantime, keep it well mulched and water with the Root Stimulator Combo pack mixture once every 3 to 4 weeks for the first growing season. When happy, this is a long-lived species that brings a sense of the exotic to your garden.
