Description

Plant Select Petite winner 2014 8" tall x 12" wide. This small growing Iris has delft-blue flowers in late spring/early summer held over compact, healthy green ornamental foliage. This is one of North America’s most beautiful native Iris native to limited area in coastal Maine north into Canada. I. hookeri is ideal for use in the rock garden or in the front of the perennial border. It is not picky about its soil and grows best in full or part sun where the summer temperatures don’t get too hot. It’s tolerant of salt spray so is a good choice along roadside beds or coastal areas. Most soil types including clay. Plant with Dianthus and Saponaria
