Overview
Golden Fragrance Grape Hyacinth (Muscari macrocarpum Golden Fragrance) blooms in mid-to-late spring with delicate yellow tubular flowers surrounded by greyish-green leaves. The tiny flowers open as a dusky purple color and eventually turn yellow often giving the raceme (flower stalk) a two-toned character. They have a lovely fragrance, so plant them where you will enjoy them daily. Non-fussy and so easy to grow, Muscari thrive in full sun to part shade, in practically any soil. They will naturalize over the years to create organic patterns of color.

Description

Golden Fragrance Grape Hyacinth (Muscari macrocarpum Golden Fragrance) sport tiny golden yellow flowers on stems 5-8" tall. With a sweet fragrance and cheery disposition, Golden Fragrance Grape Hyacinth is a top pick for a rock garden, border, or any area where they can naturalize over time. They are lovely with other spring blooming bulbs as well. As the flowers open they are a greyish-purple that gradually changes to yellow from the bottom up, giving them a cheeky purple “top-knot” at the top. Golden Fragrance is easy going and non-fussy – a perfect choice for a busy gardener. Plant them in the fall in a sun to part shade location in average well-drained soil. Deer and critter resistant, they are also good sources of spring pollen for our pollinators.
