(20-20” tall x 6-8” wide) Our ‘Athene’ Amaryllis Kit makes a wonderful gift! ‘Athene’ is a single pure white amaryllis with a yellow-green throat and lightly frilled edges. Bulbs bloom approximately 8-10 weeks after potting, with 3-4 large flowers held atop each blossoming stem. Petals age gracefully into creamy white, and strappy green foliage emerges in conjunction with the flowering stems. After flowering, cut the stems at their base and place your pot in a sunny window. After all danger of frost is past, place ‘Athene’ outdoors where it will benefit from increased sunlight and liquid feed every 3-4 weeks. In fall, bring ‘Athene’ indoors to a cool basement or garage, withhold water and let the foliage die back for a few weeks. Then start the flowering show again with warmth and water.
