Description

Like a summer sunset, the peachy-mango petals of Fairway Spur Dahlia lend romantic elegance to the summer garden. Blooming with dinner plate-sized 8-10" flowers from mid-to-late summer until frost, Fairway Spur provides plentiful flowers for home and garden. Plant the tubers when the soil has warmed, 4-6" deep in compost enriched garden soil in a sunny spot (afternoon shade in the South). Once the plant sprouts, water deeply and keep the soil moist as the dahlia grows. For long stemmed flowers, cut the plant back once when it reaches 12" tall. Stakes are helpful with these tall plants, especially in windy areas, so plant your stakes as you plant the dahlias to avoid damaging the plant. Plant with other late summer bloomers such as helianthus, veronica or tall salvia for a dramatic effect. Bees love them and you will too! (4' tall x 18" wide)
