Description
Iris germanica 'Jawbone Flats' (Tall Bearded Iris) is a garden must-have. Inspired by the memorable hike in Oregon's Cascade Mountains, 'Jawbone Flats' brings a touch of natural beauty to your garden in a captivating mix of amethyst, dark purple and white. This tall Bearded Iris will enhance the back of a perennial bed or border where its height of 44" will shower color and feed pollinators from May to early June. Vigorous clumps yield stems bearing 8-9 buds - plant in groups of three or more for best interest.
Low care, plant Iris in a compost enriched sun-to-part sun location with good drainage. Fertilize in spring and fall with organic fertilizer and that’s all you need for pollinator-favorite, water-thrifty, perennial Iris blooms. Plant with other spring bloomers like Catmint (Nepeta), Oriental Poppies (Papaver Orientale), and Evening Primrose (Oenothera).
