Designed to provide low-care, season-long color in narrow, hot and dry planting areas; it’s ideal for those difficult Inferno strips found between the street and sidewalk. Comments about High Country Gardens Summer Showstopper Pre-Planned Garden:
Even though I received the plants within 2 days and had them in the ground on the 3rd day I lost nearly every plant. I am an experienced gardener and just wonder if they all needed to be planted in bedding material first and then transplanted. The grasses arrived looking dead. Although I have purchased plants from HCG before, while living in Prescott, AZ, I wonder about our climate and soil here in Montrose.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend

Most plants took this year to get established.
from Dayton, NV
About Me Getting Started
Most plants took this year to get established. Should meet expectations next summer. The Russian sage and catmint took off well. Regarding the following question about recommending the product to a friend, the answer is yes with the explanation that the plants are small and will take time to mature.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Amazingly healthy plants
from Southern Utah
I ordered this garden last year, along with a number of other plants, and planted them all in horrific heat. I watered everything faithfully, used yum yum and Superthrive and hoped for the best. This year the plants started popping up early and are now huge. Neighbors I don't know who walk their dogs or jog past have stopped to ask me if these were the same tiny plants they saw be planting last year. They are amazed! Wanted to know where I got them. I own another home an hour away where I had planted two other pre-planned gardens 9 years ago. High Country was owned by someone else at the time. The plants are healthy and beautiful but it took a couple, three years to get to the size of the plants I bought just last year for this house. Can't say enough good things about the quality and customer support.

I was very excited to order this pre-planned garden, having heard wonderful things about High Country Gardens from both my mother and mother-in-law. What arrived was disappointing, and frankly felt cheap. The plants did not include penstemon, jupiter's beard, or redbirds in a tree. Arriving in late fall, the plants did not have time to establish and only about sixty percent of them survived the relatively mild winter. The prairie blue grass and the goldenrod died, and frankly, the other plants look puny. This garden cost nearly $200 and the results are quite simply not worth it.
Love this garden!
from Cincinnati, Ohio
I've been trying to grow a garden with a wildflower look for years. This preplanned garden was my last gasp and it did not disappoint. I followed the directions and waited and waited but when the time was right, everything bloomed and looked fantastic. In addition, all plants tolerated an eactic Cincinnati summer...soaking wet or bone dry. I was happy every day!

Summer showstopper is a showstopper!
By Grandma the gardener
from Ridgewood, NJ
We ordered this garden as a replacement to our rose bed which had dwindledafter many years. It was amazing and filled the whole bed by the end of the summer! It still looks good (not blooming anymore) at the end of Novemberin NJ. My husband and I were very pleased with this garden.
