(Plants range from 4-18" tall x 12-30" wide) The Sulphur Buckwheat Collection Eriogonums are some of the very best xeric native shrubs we can plant in the dryland garden. They are long blooming, and the seed heads hold color for several months after the flowers have been pollinated. The plants provide essential habitat for beneficial insects and insect pollinators and are a seed source for birds in fall and winter. Plant with full sun in lean rocky, sandy, dry loam and other fast-draining soils. Recommended companion plants include English Lavender (Lavandula), Phemeranthus (Fame Flower), and Nolina (Beargrass). Suitable for elevations over 7,000 feet.
The Sulphur Buckwheat Collection includes three plants:
Little Rascal Buckwheat – 1 plant
Arrowleaf Buckwheat – 1 plant
Poncha Pass Red Sulphur Buckwheat – 1 plant
*Plants are subject to change due to availability. If we make substitutions, we feature plants with similar attributes suitable to the collection.
