Finally, here is the solution for that big patch of bare ground that cries out for something really bright and colorful. Just imagine how great your garden will look with this beautifully matched grouping of long blooming, low-care flowers. Best of all, no landscape design experience is needed as the collection comes complete with professionally prepared plans. The plants in this garden will thrive in full and part sun locations. This garden collection covers an area from 75 to 100 sq. ft. in size. Save $20 off the single plant price!
Included in the drought-resistant garden collection are 3 plants each of: Salvia May Night, Achillea Moonshine (2.5"), Nepeta Select Blue, Coreopsis Moonbeam, 4 plants of Centranthus ruber Coccineus (Jupiter's Beard), and 2 plants of Artemisia Powis Castle. We reserve the right to substitute a plant with similar attributes. The garden is not recommended for coastal areas of CA, OR, WA, because the Centranthus Ruber can behave aggressively in these areas. Order our Jumbo Waterwise Garden for the West Coast instead. Note that this garden will perform best in morning sun/afternoon shade in hot desert climates.

Followed easy to follow instruction. One third of the plants were eaten by deer within a few days. Put up netting to protect. Next another third of the plants did not come back. The remaining third look very nice, but the deer still like to eat them. Would not recommend for area with deer or rabbits.

Comments about High Country Gardens Jumbo Waterwise Pre-Planned Garden:
I received my shipment of plants today. The size of the plants are what I would expect for a 5" pot, so no surprises there. The plants looked a bit smooshed from travel, so I immediately took them out of the box and gave them some water, and planted them this afternoon. Two varieties I received were very, very root bound. Another variety seems to have developed rot (and this is out of the box). I cleaned up each plant, pulling off dead parts, slimy parts, yellow parts, etc. They don't look bad in the ground at this point. Can't wait to see them in 2 years when they are full sized.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

I'll admit, at delivery I was a little nervous. The plants were so little. However, after a year of growth, all of the plants are doing remarkably! It is a beautiful collection and gets many compliments. Long and colorful blooms in its first season. All the small plants from High Country grew fast and well. I am very happy and would recommend this collection. Can't beat the warranty either!

This pre-planned garden is slow growing. Three plants did nothing at all! High Country has agreed to continue my warranty until the next growing season so we shall see how they do. Unforturtunately, the rabbits like some of them too!

I planted this planned garden last year after digging out an old bed. I prepared my bed and was excited to see who it would look as it grew. Only one yarrow plant even survived the winter. Not sure if it was something I did or just the that the plants don't like Montana winters and summers. I had no luck. Back to the drawing board on this flower bed.

This garden is lovely!
When the plants arrived I was not able to plant them right away and found some in bad shape due to the extra wait, but EVERY ONE OF THEM survived and ended up flourishing by the end of summer! I love the mix if color and textures in this garden plan and because of the beauty and ease of care I will be ordering the same plants for a different area that requires tough but beautiful plants!

Truly amazing! Exceeded expectations in first year!
from Salt Lake City
I was so surprised at how robust these plants were in the first year. I planted them in mid May, which in Utah is safe after the last frost. They grew bigger and healthier by the day, with the exception of one variety which a pesky vole thought was most delicious and ate all five plants. They were so healthy that I ordered another planned garden that I planted in October, and am looking forward to spring to see how these 32 plants survived the winter.

Not the best photo, but this garden REALLY filled in!
Amazing results so far!
from Salt Lake City, UT
I planted the jumbo water wise garden in May 2016 in Salt Lake City - with phenomenal results this first summer! Other than having some critters eat a couple of the yarrow, all of the plants have grown large and healthy - and have attracted many pollinators as well. I will definitely order more of the preplanned gardens from you going forward. Thank you!

Merchant response: Good Day Don,We are so sorry to hear that critters have eaten your plants! Although this garden is listed as deer and rabbit resistant, sadly, nothing is really pest proof. If they are hungry and desperate, they will eat literally anything. Most animals will take a taste first before deciding not to eat the plant. Because of this, we suggest using a repellent until the plant is established to ensure that the plant can bounce back from a tasting. Please know that we are truly committed to your success and want you to feel like you got exactly what you paid for which is why we fully guarantee all of our products up to a year from the day your order has shipped. JUMBO WATERWISE PRE-PLANNED GARDEN
from Red Bluff, CA
We depend on a well for water and California suffering a drought I wanted to set up a dry area that has a poor water supply. In less then six months the plants are doing well. I was surprised at fast they adapted themselves to our very poor soil and watering problems. They are flourishing. I have never been disappointed with High Country Gardens products. I will only buy mail order plants from them.
Love this garden

I planted this garden around my mailbox next to our dirt road. It is thriving where most plants before died from not getting enough water. It is beautiful and looks like a professional garden. I added bulbs to make it a seasonal garden.

You had me at "neonicotinoid free"
By Lost Bee
from Denver CO
I bought the waterwise garden for 4 raised beds around my garden shed. (Feeding the feral bees was what I had in mind and thank you for your stand on neonicotinoids). The beds get mid morning to mid afternoon sun. My plants arrived last fall. I was impressed by how carefully they were packaged. Instructions were easy to follow. I bought the Plant Success Granular Mycorrhiza Root Innoculant, the Planters II Natural Trace Mineral Fertilizer, and the Yum Yum Mix Winterizer. I followed the planting instructions to the letter, including using a thick store bought mulch. Everything settled in for autumn and the coming Denver winter. However...some small night animal (we think skunk or raccoon) LOVED the soil additives so much that in the morning my plants were dug up and laying on the ground. I replanted them once more with the Plant Success and Yum Yum mix and covered the raised beds with wire fencing to keep out the mystery critter. The artemisia was put in a different spot in the yard and they were dug up three times before I just smacked them in the ground and said good luck..The coreopsis died back hard this winter and I didn't think it would be back, but after stirring the mulch around each plant this week I see it has spread nicely and all the plants look great, including the artemisia, which must have an iron will to live. Thank you for such healthy plants.

I was so delighted when they bloomed the first summer! I can just imagine the beautiful colors the second and subsequent seasons.
Beautiful! Will Buy Again
from Colby, Kansas
We ordered two of these sets to fill in a large area in our front yard. They were quick growing and super hardy. Little to no fuss at all. Give them a quick drink and then don't worry about them. They all filled in nicely together. Will definitely be ordering again for a large area around our firepit.

A year old now, this garden stops passers-by in their tracks! It borders a very hot driveway, and makes me smile every time I come home.
I used this pre-planned garden to fill the border around the front of my house, and one year later I am very pleased with the results. A few of the plants will probably need one more season to reach their full potential, but most of the plants are already huge, flowering and gorgeous.

Great for large spaces!
We had a very large area at our last house that needed some landscaping and this garden worked perfectly! The included planting instructions were easy to follow and this garden really filled in and looked like it had been planted by a professional. We made the mistake of planting a couple of the plants a little too close to each other as the plants do get quite large, but the garden still looked really nice all summer.
Great Package of Plants
from Oakland, CA
All of these plants have thrived! This is a great package. All the plants, except one, had a great first year and are now awesome this second season. One plant died last summer, and it was quickly replaced.I highly recommend this easy package of plants.

I planted the garden on a dry slope. This is it's second year and the plants have come in nicely, despite our drought.

Just what I wanted
By Mom of 5
from Hugo, CO
I used this product to add some color in my front yard and it was a perfect choice. This was the first pre-planned garden that I have purchased and it was great. Three of the original plants did not make it over the winter, but HCG replaced them with no problems in the spring. The plants have done wonderful this year and really make a difference in my yard. I have VERY sandy soil and not much moisture and the plants look fantastic.
Great selections for xeric beauty

This is a great selection whether you use the planned layout or not. I used the plants in pockets between boulders in a retaining wall.
Wonderful investment to my garden.

First time to purchase a pre-planned garden and it was a wonderful investment. I love all the flowers I purchase from you and this purchase has filled my backyard gardens. Have already made a purchase for this year.
Be prepared to get so many compliments!
from Denver, CO
I followed the easy to use planting diagram and as the information stated, my plants achieved full maturity by season 2-3. I had one plant die over the course of the season and was able to have it replaced with no issue by High Country Garden. I LOVE this garden--it is so easy and I get so many compliments for it. I have since moved to another home and will be ordering another pre-planned garden (perhaps this same one) for my new yard.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
