USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Details
4" tall x 10-12" wide. Veronica 'Blue Yonder' (U.S. Plant Patent 27,284) is a stunning garden hybrid Speedwell that blooms in mid- to late spring with a profusion of deep blue flower spikes held above a handsome mat of deep green foliage. "In my thirty plus years of gardening, it's flowers are the showiest of all the groundcover Veronica that I have grown," said HCG founder and chief horticulturist David Salman. A fantastic groundcover to plant with spring flowering bulbs; the blue makes the bulb flowers really "pop"! Discovered in the gardens by the folks at Laporte Avenue Nursery of Ft. Collins, CO.

Flat of 32 plants will cover 27-32 square feet when planted together
