Campanula rotundifolia (Bluebells of Scotland or Bluebell Bellflower), a native wildflower, blooms most of the summer with a numerous nodding, blue bell-like flowers held over the bright green foliage. Native to the foothills and mountains, Bluebells like cooler growing conditions and appreciate afternoon shade in hot summer climates. These plants need regular, even moisture.
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low
temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will
survive the winter temperatures in your area.
If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack
of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).
12" tall x 15" wide. Campanula rotundifolia (Bluebells of Scotland or Bluebell Bellflower) has wiry stems of nodding blue flowers gracing this native wildflower. Blooms continuously from early summer on. This little charmer blends well into any perennial border! Campanulas grow best in good garden soils with watering and will do better with afternoon shade in hot summer climates. Very cold hardy perennials that are particularly useful to northern gardeners. Deadhead flowers to encourage additional blooms. (seed propagated)

Tips On Growing Campanula (Bluebells)
Campanula (Bluebells) is a large genus of primarily Old World species known for their showy blue flowers.
Preferred growing conditions:
Plant in most any soil including clay with full sun to partial shade conditions.
Mulch with most common mulch materials. Mulching not needed in Eastern US.
Keep regularly watered and don't let them get too dry.
Fertilize lightly in fall with Yum Yum Mix/compost blend.
Special comments:
Deadhead to prolong blooming. Leave some seeds to ripen to encourage plants to re-seed themselves.
Cut back hard to just above the ground in mid-spring.
