Long used as a medicinal herb, Alpine Lady's Mantle (Alchemilla alpina) is also a wonderful addition to the ornamental garden. Excellent foliage, effusive blooms, and slow, gentle spreading are delivered a small package. Petite, deeply lobed foliage is smooth on the top side and slightly hairy on the underside, outlined with striking silver margins. In summer, tiny lime-green blossoms appear above this low-growing perennial, creating a frothy effect that lasts for many weeks. An excellent, unusual choice for rock gardens, walls, and groundcover.
