4. After spreading the seed, we recommend compressing the seed into the soil.

Didn't Wake Up

About Me Getting Started
Comments about High Country Gardens Muhlenbergia capillaris Regal Mist:
I ordered 2 of this product, along with 2 "Prairie Blues" and 2 "Blonde Ambition" grasses this spring. They were all "sleeping" when they arrived but either this grass or the "Blonde Ambition" never woke up and still look like brittle yellow stems in the ground. The others have thrived and are doing great at the time of this review (August 2016). I'm giving three stars because I'm pretty certain the Blonde Ambition is the plant that didn't wake up, but am posting this review for both in the event I am remembering their arrival states incorrectly.
Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

Don't buy in the Fall
from Nokesville, Virginia
About Me Avid Gardener
They seemed like nice plants (very small ones), but they did not survive the winter. One or two showed signs of life, but they did not come out of dormancy. Having said that, certain grasses - especially those with red coloring seem to have a hard time surviving the cold. In Virginia we had a late cold snap that probably did not help. Purchasing the plant in the Springtime might work out much better.
Bottom Line No, I would not recommend this to a friend
Merchant response: Good Day MarkNilsStrand,We are so sad to hear about your struggle with the Muhly Grass. The color of the grass shouldn't play much of a role in its hardiness. However, if you experience wet winters that are more common in the eastern region, this can sometimes be a little difficult for new transplants. Please know that we would never want you to pay for something you never got a chance to enjoy! It is because of this that we fully guarantee all of our products up to a year from the day your order has shipped. We have reached out to you via email to discuss your options so you can get the results you paid for! Should you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to call us at 1-800-925-9387 Our hours are Monday - Friday 7am - 5pm MTHappy Gardening!
To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.
