A prairie native, this perennial ornamental grass, 'Rain Dance' thrives in average to rich soils with regular moisture to look its best. Andropogon gerardii is an outstanding companion plant for other tall, late-season blooming wildflowers and other native grasses. Rain Dance Big Bluestem Grass is an outstanding grass for the habitat garden providing large seeds that are eaten by seed-eating songbirds in fall and winter.
