Gaura, also known as Beeblossom Grass, Appleblossom Grass, or Wand Flower, is an herbaceous clump-forming perennial native to Texas and Louisiana. Fast-growing and drought tolerant, it performs best in lean, well-drained soils. Long upright stems are covered with blooms that attract bees and butterflies. Its attractive airy habit layers beautifully with grasses and perennials. Gaura is also beautiful when mass planted and grown in spaces where it can naturalize and spread. This resilient perennial thrives in high heat and humidity, blooming all season long despite heat and sun, making it a superb addition to xeriscapes and low water gardens.
