Pardon Me Reblooming Daylily

Easy-care, compact, and fragrant, Hemerocallis ‘Pardon Me’ (Reblooming Daylily) is practically perfect. Large cranberry-red flowers are accented by golden-green throats and will bloom for over 12 weeks from early summer to fall. At 16-18 inches tall, the lush green foliage is the perfect foil for the blooms. A pollinator favorite, enjoy them along paths, in containers, and en masse where they can cover some ground. Daylilies thrive on tough love.

USDA Hardiness Planting Zones

To determine if a plant is sufficiently cold hardy, the USDA created numbered zones indicating winter low temperatures; the lower the zone number the colder the winter.

  • If the coldest winter temperature expected in your area is -15°F (zone 5) then any plants rated zones 3-5 will survive the winter temperatures in your area.
  • If you live in very warm winter areas (zones 9-11) plants with zones 3-4 ratings are not recommended. The lack of freezing winter temperatures do not provide a time for winter dormancy (rest).

Details
Hemerocallis (Daylilies) have a low-maintenance nature that makes them ideal for out-of-the way locations like sloping hillsides and waterwise perennial borders. Flowers appear on scapes (leafless stems) and last just one day, hence the name daylily. Snap or cut off spent blooms at the scape to promote reblooming. Deadheading is the key to abundant blooms, as it keeps the daylily from putting energy into seed production. Once all the blooms on a scape are finished, you may cut back the scape to keep your plant looking tidy. Plant your daylily roots in average well-drained soil in a sun to part sun location. Pollinator favorites, hummingbirds and butterflies are frequent visitors. Rabbit resistant for worry-free gardening.
